The Small Animal Hotel

About Me

My name is Charlotte and I am the manager of The Small Animal Hotel. I took over this role in May 2018 having worked here previously for the past year cleaning the barns and providing general day to day care and interaction with the pets staying here.

I’m a bit of an animal fanatic and have lots of experience in caring for animals. I currently have 8 of my own rabbits, 2 parrots (a senegal and an orange winged amazon) and a dog. As well as having my own pets I have worked with a wide range of animals including an animal rescue centre that saw many difficult cases with rabbits and guinea pigs and several livestock farms. So whatever your small animal is, I’m certain that I will be able to handle it, care for it and offer it love whilst it is here.

To ensure that your pet is in the best possible care I have studied with the International Open Academy and been accredited a certificate in ‘Pet First Aid & CPR’ And I am in the process of studying to gain a certificate in ‘Animal Care’ covering nutritional, environmental and interactional needs of small furries, reptiles and birds.

I love meeting all your gorgeous animals and can’t wait to meet them here!

My name is Danielle and I am the owner of The Small Animal Hotel. I purchased the hotel from Craig and Vicky at The Pets Country Manor in September 2016 due to their cattery expansion. I have always loved all types of animals, and have been lucky enough to have experience with many different animals due to growing up on a farm.

I have done a number of different jobs since completing my BSc Psychology and Internet Technology degree in 2007. However, it is only now that I feel I have my dream job - working with animals every day at The Small Animal Hotel.

I have very high standards and treat all of the animals here as one of my own, with love and affection. All of our accommodation and runs are on hard standing and we only use DEFRA approved cleaning products such as F10. We would never use grass as this cannot be cleaned and therefore increases the risk of spreading disease and virus.

I am a member of RWAF (Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund) and The British Rabbit Council. I am CRB checked and also have the following Pet Industry Federation accredited ‘Pet Handling & Welfare’ certificates – Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and Bearded Dragons.
